Whereas former Amavubi striker Jimmy Mulisa is already assured of a job as deputy Technical Director for the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA), his boss is yet to be known.
As you read this, FERWAFA has shortlisted four European coaches for the position of Technical Director.
These are; Dutchman Hendrikus Pieter de Jongh, Giovanni Scanu (Italian), Sebastien Desabre (French) and German, Michael Weiss.
The final four was a list agreed upon after nine applicants including SC Villa’s former head coach, Antonio Flores showed interest in the job.
This follows the resignation of Englishman Lee Johnson in April 2015.
FERWAFA president Vincent Nzamwita as quoted by caf.com noted;
We received nine applicants for the position of the Technical Director, assessed their proposals before closing in on the final four.
We are now in the process of making an ultimate decision to decide the capable coach fit for this position together with our main stake holder, the Ministry of Sports and Culture (MINISPOC)
The five that failed to make the cut are Adalbert Ivanov Zafirov (Bulgaria), Kiko Lopez (Spanish), Antonio Flores (Spanish-German), Drago Mamic (Croatia) and Conor Marlin (Northern Ireland).
The major tasks of the new Technical Director will include delivering and managing youth development programmes, develop and implement player analysis tools to enhance performance and support development, organize, plan, manage and deliver multiple projects to meet key performance indicators.
Uganda’s FUFA technical director is Asuman Lubowa.
