Charity Match: Mexico All Stars 9-8 FIFA Legends
A collection of 31 former world champions as Alessandro Altobelli, Marcel Desailly, Ronaldinho, Fabio Cannavaro and Carles Puyol under the coaches Carolina Morace and José Mourinho mixed alongside stars of the women’s game, including FIFA Women’s World Cup winners Mia Hamm and Renate Lingor to play the Mexico All Stars team in a 9 – aside game at the iconic Azteca Stadium in Mexico.
The Mexican team had the likes of Osvaldo Sanchez, Alberto Rodriguez, Juan de Dios Ramirez Perales, Monica Gonzalez, Miguel España, Monica Vergara, Benjamin Galindo, Alberto Garcia Aspe, Jared Borgetti, Iris Mora, Braulio Luna, German Villa, Luis Hernandez, Francisco Fonseca, Luis Roberto Alves, Jorge Campos, Manuel Negrete.
Pablo Aimar and Francisco Fonseca each scored a hat-trick for the respective teams.
There were an avalanche of goals with Ronaldinho showing off his unique technique, drawing spontaneous applause from the spectators.
At the end of the colorful event, the final result had nothing to count for but the celebrations emitted a beam of excitement.
This in line with the current FIFA president Gianni Infantino’s agenda of engaging more with the football world and getting football back to the heart.
The legends of the game were basically to promote and support football, take part in a football policy thinktank and visit social projects.

The FIFA Legends also visited the famous Mexico Musuem
Relatedly, this was the 50th anniversary of the Azteca stadium.

I’m very happy to be here, in this iconic, monumental Stadium
All the players who took part will also participate in the FIFA Congress that rolled off on Thursday 12th May 2016 with the opening ceremony.
FUFA is represented by Moses Magogo (FUFA President), Justus Mugisha (1st Vice President) and the federation Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Edgar Watson.
