Days after the climax of the first ever Futsal Mini League in Uganda, a cross section of teams and companies remain disgruntled by the general set up and entire organization by the Futsal Association Uganda (FAU).

One of the three teams that withdrew from the Mini League citing inconsistent and unfair rulings by the technical committee on sensitive matters, Future Soccer Foundation (sponsored by SSL logistics and Riham group of companies) are still bitter up to now.

A bitter SSL Logistics managing director, Shady H. Ez-el-din told Kawowo Sports;

Two of the best teams withdrew from the league because teams as Emporio Milano had ineligible licensed (from Kamwokya United) which is against the set rules.

What pains is that these ineligible players played in four of Emporio’s matches but how comes only three points were deducted?

The owner of Emporio team was taking FAU as fools, fabricating New I.D’s for players and let them play which is all wrong

FAU Technical Director, Pius Sserugo differs from Shady’s school of thought;

We (FAU) were fair and wanted to clean the house.

No biased decision was taken to favour any team.

We are a young association that needs no grey areas for development.

Bashir Mutyaba, a member of the FAU Competitions Committee asserts all the questionable players were identified and advised not to play again and the teams that used them penalized.

The first ever Futsal Mini League climaxed on Tuesday night at Lugogo Indoor Arena and Sauna were crowned championship.

The most intriguing aspect is that the league started with 11 teams but ended with only 9 teams following the untimely withdrawal of Coca cola, Future Soccer Foundation and SSL Logistics teams.
