KCCA Leopards vs. JKL Lady Dolphins – 6:00pm, YMCA

JKL Lady Dolphins received a baptism of fire from defending champions UCU Lady Canons in their first game of the season and will now face another gigantic test when they take on KCCA Leopards at YMCA Outdoor court on Wednesday evening.

The Namboole outfit set a target of reaching the finals of this year’s ladies competition in order to qualify for the Zone V Club Championship.

“We are still building and the team will play well as the season goes on,” Boniface Okello, the team’s head coach told Kawowo Sports after the team’s first ever game in the top flight.

In Peace Nakirijja, Purity Odhiambo, Ruth Kirungi, Angella Namirimu and Lyn Nalunkuuma, JKL have players that have seen and done it all.

They all lifted the title with UCU Lady Canons and their experience gives the side reason to believe.

But, against a KCCA side that has been bolstered by the arrival of Maureen Amoding, Belinda Feni and Florence Kalume, the newly promoted outfit will have their work cut out and Timothy Odeke’s troops head into the game with the upper hand.

The women’s basketball league has been dominated by UCU and KCCA in the last decade and JKL remain confident they can break that duopoly.
