Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Football Club has led the way in the June transfer window with three new players on board.
Midfielder Julius Mutyaba (from Lweza), striker Richard Wandyaka (Jinja Municipal Council) and Sadolin Paints goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga are sure and confirmed captures ahead of the 2016/17 season.
The three players follow a massive player exodus from the tax collectors’ side who train at Homesdallen School, Gayaza and host their home games at Mehta Stadium in Lugazi.
Other Targets:
The club is still in continuous talks with a host of players. Promising Lweza right back, Fred Okot is looked at Simone Masaba’s replacement in the department.
Masaba has since been retired to join the backroom technical staff.
Chrispus Kusima, another goalie – playing with Airtel Kitara in Hoima impressed the team’s technical wing when URA played the side in the Empango celebrations match.
With the departure of Sulait Luyima and Brian ‘Ziggi’ Bwete, Kusima is expected to join Muwanga to beef up the goalkeeping department that already has the towering Cleo Ssetubba.
Allan Kayiwa, a subject of contention from Express, SC Villa, KCCA and even Vipers is yet another target.
Masavu F.C left back, Hakim Ssekitto is the other player on the team radar.
The other clubs are in a serious underground task to beef up their respective squads.
