Uganda Cranes’ Henry Kalungi has urged his teammates at Charlotte Independence to brood and develop a strong mentality to be able to overturn Saturday-like defeats at home.
Charlotte Independence could not secure one or three points as they succumbed to a 2-1 loss at the hands of Wilmington Hammerhead and Kalungi feels they could have done better.
“We need to come out with a better mentality,” defender Kalungi told The Charlotte Post.
“We are at home. We have to win these games. We have to bring it all and show that we are one of the teams competing to be on top of the table.
“We get the chances, we have to be able to finish them. At the same time, we have to defend. All of the goals that we gave up tonight were so easy.”
Independence (7-5-4) will be back at Ramblewood Stadium on Wednesday, July 13, for an exhibition match against Swansea City of the Premier League.
