JMC Hippos 0-0 Kirinya Jinja S.S

The Kakindu stadium stands in the heart of Jinja Municipality were full to capacity as early as 3 p.m.

Fans from across the divide in Jinja and the neighboring areas were braved for the Jinja Municipal Council Hippos and Kirinya Jinja S.S derby duel.

For a reason, the building euphoria was well called for – derby games are vibrant with lots of expectations and often with tension packed thrills.

First, both clubs have players, officials and fans that always promise a lot off the arena.

That said, the only perfect platform to answer the frequently asked questions would be action on the field of play.

Martin Mugabi was culprit for JMC Hippos with a couple missed opportunities before he paved way for Charles Ssemanda.

Ssemanda too, was denied by the woodwork frame from inside 10 yards in arguably the best scoring chance on the day.

Kirinya-Jinja S.S goalie Latom Ikara was also on top form with arm swinging saves to ensure a clean sheet, the second after the opening day draw at the Kyabazinga stadium against Uganda Revenue Authority last Friday.

Joel Madondo had the best chances for Kirinya Jinja S.S but his scoring boots laces were never fastened well in time.

Kirinya  – Jinja S.S, one of the three league debutants (alongside Onduparaka from Arua and Proline) remains among the sides yet to find the back of the net in 2016/17 season.

Other clubs yet to score are Onduparaka and Sadolin Paints.
