AFCON 2017 Group D Qualifier: Uganda Cranes Vs Comoros

Uganda Cranes head coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic has named an attack minded side to face the ‘Les Coelecantes’ from Comoros in the deciding AFCON 2017 group D qualifier on Sunday.
The match takes place at the 42,000 seater Nelson Mandela National Stadium with a victory for Uganda Cranes sealing a slot to the Africa footballing fiesta in over 38 years.
Mamelodi Sundowns goalie Dennis Masendi Onyango passes a late fitness test and starts in between the goal posts at the expense of El Merriekh goalkeeper Salim Jamal.
Vipers’ skipper Nicholas Wadada and KCCA MVP Joseph Ochaya are two players on the starting eleven that play in the domestic league.
Wadada starts at right back, replacing Dennis Iguma who is suspended and Ochaya take the left back role.
St George defender Isaac Isinde will partner Simba Sports club calm sweeper Murushid Jjuuko at the heart of the central defense.
It is a fully packed midfield consisting of Baroka new catch Aucho Khalid, Throutter’s Tonny Mawejje and a half nine roving player – Farouk Miya, currently playing at Standard Liege in Belgium.

The two wide men are William Luwagga Kizito of Rio Ave in Portugal and Russia’s Kuban Kranodor winger Moses Oloya.
Baroka football club newly acquired striker Geofrey Massa leads the line.
Massa is also the team captain for Uganda Cranes.

The bench is rich with plenty of options with game changing alternatives.
El Merriekh shot stopper Jamal Salim Magoola is the reserve goalkeeper.
Other options on the bench are; Nicholas Wadada, Geoffrey Sserunkuma, Yunus Sentamu, Godfrey Walusimbi, Ivan Ntege and Dannish based Emmanuel Okwi.
The ‘Les Coelecantes’ head coach Abdou Amir ed dine is expected to name quite a different line up from the one that lost to Uganda away in the first leg.
Match officials:
Senegalese FIFA referee, Malang Diedhiou is the match center referee and he will be assisted by countrymen Djibril Camara and El Hadji Malick Samba who are the first and second assistant referees respectively.

The state of the ground could be slippery after the early rains in Kampala and the surrounding areas.
