Morocco premier club Wydad Casablanca has appointed Mohamed Sohail as the new manager.
This follows the sacking of John Toshack over the weekend.
Toshack was dismissed after the disappointing team’s 4-0 loss away to Egyptian giants Zamalek in the first leg of their CAF Champions League semifinal.
Sohail’s is a former player of the club and his immediate task will be laying strategies of overturning the 4-0 deficit.
To get the job, Sohail beat former Egyptian national team manager Hassan Shehata who had been also linked to the job.
The winner of the Wydad-Zamalek tie will face either Mamelodi Sundowns or Zesco United in the final of the competition.
Mamelodi Sundowns lost the first leg 2-1 to the Zambian champions in Ndola.
