Sixteen time record Uganda Premier League winners Sports Club Villa Jogoo has  terminated the services of head coach Deo ‘Kajambiya’ Sserwadda with immediate effect.

The development, as confirmed by the club president Ben Immanuel Misagga comes in the wake of the club’s 4-3 disappointing loss in Arua to Onduparaka Football Club on Saturday.

Yes, we have parted ways with Deo Sserwadda as head coach. His assistant Shafiq Bisaso will take over as we look for a permanent solution.

Sserwadda, a club legend at the Nsambya based team was appointed head coach of the Jogoos in July 2016.

There has always been a growing conspiracy that Sserwadda had lost the grip of the dressing room and many club loyalists had lost the trust at first bestowed upon him.

He has handled the club in seven league engagements drawing and winning three games apiece before the fateful Onduparaka loss.

There are confirmed reports that after the opening draw of the season (with Police), Sserwadda received the early warning bells from top club management.

The situation was calmed by a 2-0 win at Sadolin Paints a week later in the second outing before a slim 1-0 home win against JMC Hippos in their third match.

On Match Day 5, the Jogoos failed to score in yet another goalless affair with Lweza before whipping Proline 3-0 in the subsequent game.

Last Tuesday, SC Villa rallied from a goal down to force the 1-1 draw with Soana at Mandela National Stadium ahead of the Arua expedition.

Bisaso’s first test

With the league taking a break until 11th October 2016, Bisaso has ample time to re-organize the house as he plots for The Saints’ visit in their next league engagement at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

SC Villa is now 4th with 12 points fetched from seven games, 6 points adrift of log leaders KCCA who have played a game more.
