The Cranes made a start to their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with an away point to Ghana thanks to a barren stalemate.
The visitors were on the back foot for most of the game but held on for a precious point at Tamale Sports stadium.
Ismael Kiyonga rates the players Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic offered playing time on the day.
Denis Onyango 8.0: He made a world class save in the second half to deny Asamoah Gyan and was always alert whenever called on. Besides, his command of the area was also fantastic.
Nicholas Wadada 5.0: The Vipers’ man started well especially going forward but was always a few meters away off Frank Acheampong when Ghana attacked. Fortunate not to be sent off by the Sudanese official who seemed to have booked him twice in one game although TV replays showed the referee didn’t flash a card for the first half incident.
Joseph Ochaya 5.0: He was lackluster in possession losing a few balls in the first half but improved as the game went on. He had an opportunity wasted in the first half when he decided to go for personal glory instead of passing to his teammates in the area.
Murushid Jjuuko 5.0: Did make a wild tackle on Christian Atsu which earned him a booking in the first half but made necessary interceptions and challenges that kept the hosts at bay.
Isaac Isinde 6.0: He kept the deadly Gyan and Jordan Ayew under check and was one of the few players on the team not to concede silly fouls.
Aucho Khalid 6.0: He looked a little bit blunt especially in the first half as Ghana’s Acheampong, Acquaye Afriye and Mubarak Wakaso but made a brilliant last ditch clearance in the first half to keep the game score line unchanged.
Denis Iguma 6.0: He started in midfield with Wadada starting at right back and was livelier than his other colleagues, Aucho and Tonny Mawejje. He still did well when he moved to right back after the substitution of Wadada.
Tonny Mawejje 4.0: Started the game playing as a second striker behind Farouk Miya but failed to blossom. Was a little casual and it was no surprise when he was replaced by Geoffrey Massa 10 minutes after the break.
William Luwagga Kizito 5.0: He was a slow starter and often conceded possession but improved as the game grew. His hold up play in the second half when Cranes were on the back foot was fine although he needed to pace up the game at times.
Moses Oloya 5.0: The Kuban Krasnodar man made a good combination with Wadada on the right flank especially in the opening quarter of the game but faded as the game went on.
Farouk Miya 6.0: He did start as the spearhead leading the line but was in oblivion in the position although he did chase after every ball.
Shifted to his preferred number 10 role after Massa came on but Ghana gave him no chance.
Substitutes
Geoffrey Massa 5.0: Came on for the off colour Mawejje but lack of supply meant he was kept under check by Daniel Amartey and John Boye.
Hassan Wasswa Mawanda 6.0: He did cool down the tempo when he came on for Wadada and dictate play for the Cranes.
Godfrey Walusimbi 5.5: He came on for Oloya and injected pace especially through counter attacks. Whenever he got on the ball, he tried to play forward.
Coach Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic 7.0:
He made a brave decision to leave skipper Geoffrey Massa out of the starting team. Besides, he also maintained Wadada at right back which was a good decision.
His changes were also spot on for the game especially the introduction of Wasswa.
