She Corporate 2-3 Uganda Martyr’s High School

Pint sized but immensely talented forward Lillian Mutuuzu scored a brace to inspire debutants Uganda Martyrs’ High School, Rubaga to a 3-2 victory in their first Women Elite League encounter held at the Uganda Institute of Information and Communication Technology, Nakawa.

Resty Nanziri scored the other goal for Uganda Martyrs.

Rwandese import Alice Kalimba and Aisha Nambiru beat goalkeeper Pamela Nakayondo for the two goals that the home side (who finished second last season to champions, Kawempe Muslim S.S) managed to score.

She Corporate will have to curse the missed scoring opportunities that experienced Halima Kembabazi, Tina Nambirigge and Winnie Mirembe failed to utilize.

Rogers Nkugwa, the head coach at Uganda Martyrs High School attributes his side’s strong start to great preparations and the chemistry built between the players.

“We played a number of friendly matches for team gelling. The players also played according to instructions which they followed to the dot. It is therefore not surprising that they earned the three points against a far much experienced side. I salute the players,” an excited Nkugwa told Kawowo Sports.

The league will resume next weekend.
