Suspended South Africa coach Shakes Mashaba is bound to be sacked, reports in South Africa have revealed.

He appeared before the South African Football Association’s disciplinary committee on Tuesday and according to sources, only under-17 coach Molefi Ntseki will stay.

Da Gama – who took charge of Bafana on an interim basis in the friendly international against Mozambique on Tuesday following Mashaba’s suspension could also follow.

He pledged allegiance to Mashaba a strategic error that could see him packing as well.

“Continuity always favours whatever you are in,” Da Gama said on taking up the mantle.

“So we would hope for continuity and not change things a lot. If a new coach comes in, he could change everything, and that could be more uncertain than continuity.”

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane, former Ajax Cape Town mentor Roger de Sa and Cape Town City’s Eric Tinkler are some of the tacticians likely to replace Mashaba.
