St George 3-0 Defense

Record Ethiopia Premier league champions, St George registered yet another routine victory, winning 3-0 against Defense in Addis Ababa on Sunday evening.

Burkinable youngster Abdulniki Niekema opened the scoring in the 56th minute before veteran forward Adane Girma grabbed a brace.

The first of Girma’s goals arrived two minutes after Niekema’s opener and sealed with a well converted penalty 10 minutes from full time.

Goalkeeper Robert Odongkara yet another secured another clean sheet for the Kedus Giorgis.

There was playing time for defender Isaac Isinde played in the game as midfielder Yassar Mugerwa missed action.

The Ethiopian premier league marked week three where the reigning champions, St George maintain their 100 percent record with no goal conceded, scoring 8.

Kirizestom Ntambi’s Jimma Aba Bunna registered their first victory of the season as the debutants overcame Nigid Bank 2-0.
Dawit Tefera and Ame Mohammed scored in the 50th and 80th minutes respectively.
 The other Ugandan, Manco Kaweesa who plays at Ethio-Electric helped his side grab a point in the one all draw with Addis-Ababa City.
Dawit Estifanos’ 21st minute opener for Ethio Electric was cancelled by Fikadu Alemu with six minutes to the end of the opening stanza of the game.
