Sunday, December 04, 2016: Boma Young Vs Masavu

Boma Play ground, Hoima (4 p.m)

Current Rwenzori group log leaders, Masavu football club have traveled 230 KM from Kampala to the far North West in Hoima Municipality for their game in hand against Boma Young.

The game is a result of the postponement from the previous week after the Hoima side requested for the fixture to be pushed ahead since a number of their players who are students were engaged in end of term examinations.

Masavu at the moment has 23 points and lead the Rwenzori group of the FUFA Big league, three points ahead of second placed Mbarara City (20 points), although the latter have played a game ahead.

Immediate past result:

The two clubs registered contrasting results from their immediate past fixtures.

Masavu gritted their teeth to defeat another Hoima entity 2-1 after that last gasp winner from the tried and tested striker Rashid ‘Katoito’ Kato at their Sandy Katabi Gombolola play ground.

Boma Young did not travel to the Mutesa II Wankulukuku stadium to honour their match against Hope Doves and thus lost the match by forfeiture (losing by three goals and points apiece).

In the Sunday fixture, Masavu welcomes back prodigal son KennethTumusiime who missed the previous home match citing family problems.

Boma Young will however miss the services for four of their star players who are preparing for the region’s Tea Estates grand finale.

Club top scorer Tabu Zande is among the players who will miss action for Boma Young alongside Dennis Pariyo.

Masavu head coach, Allan Kabonge believes the match, like all away matches will be decided by the small game details;

In every game, especially when playing away from home, special attention to details always matters a lot. We are set mentally and physically for the match and we target maximum points.

Masavu travels to Hoima without utility player Sulaiman Mutta who suffered a terrible leg injury against Airtel Kitara.

Midfielder cum striker Onesmas Andama misses the game as he did not travel to Hoima for unclear personal reasons.

Three clubs are promoted to the Azam Uganda Premier League division.

The top two per group (Rwenzori and Elgon) shall enter directly and the third is determined via a promotional play off.
