SC Villa coach Shafik Bisaso is hopeful his strikers Umar Kasumba and Alex Kitaata’s injuries are not serious as the team prepares to face URA on Tuesday.

The two centre forwards limped off in the 2-1 win over Vipers on Saturday with Kitaata leaving the pitch less than 10 minutes into the game while Kasumba was hauled off after being fouled by Hassan Wasswa midway the second period.

“We are hoping the injuries are not serious,” Bisaso told Kawowo Sports. “We expect to have them fit in time for the game against URA,” he added.

After playing seven matches in 10 days while in Vietnam, SC Villa were expected to be a little tired as compared to the hosts on Saturday but that wasn’t the case and Bisaso was also left a little astonished.

I think they (vipers) had a wrong observation on us. They probably in their game plan and strategy targeted some players we never fielded. I saw them tired in a few minutes yet we were supposed to be.

Bisaso named a 3-man defence (Joseph Nsubuga, Henry Katongole and Paul Mbowa) but still had two defenders playing as wing backs in Ibrahim Kiyemba and John Adriko and when asked why he fielded such a team, his reply was simple.

We are trying to be flexible in all formations as per the trends in modern football.

The Jogoos have a chance to trim the gap at the summit to just a single point with victory on Tuesday given log leaders KCCA are not in action until Wednesday.
