Express will be eager to build on their win over Soana when they visit JMC Hippos at Kakindu in the final first round league game.

The Red Eagles have had an average first half of 2016/17 in which they have far won four, drawn seven and lost three.

Ahead of the game at Kakindu, Express coach Matia Lule has revealed the team has had good preparations for the game and says the team is ready to fight for maximum points.

“Preparations have gone well and the team is ready to put in a good shift to win the game,” he stated before calling on the fans to turn up in big numbers.

I can’t promise them a win but if we play a good game we can get all the 3 points. I request them to turn up in huge numbers because if they are many it also gives us extra energy.

Lule also gave injury updates indicating that team captain Mike Mutyaba, Simon Sserunkuma and Ismail Kazibwe are all out injured.

Kazibwe Ismail is out with a hamstring injury, Mike Mutyaba also out with a knock and Simon Sserunkuma also got a knock against Soana on Tuesday but all others are fine and can give us a good game.

Kazibwe’s absence means Yayo Lutimba will continue to deputize at left back while John Semazzi may replace Sserunkuma on the team.

Seventh on the log with 19 points, the Red Eagles may jump to 5th with maximum points in case Vipers lose to Soana away in Kavumba.

JMC Hippos is one only two winless sides in the league this season and sits bottom of the log with just four points after 14 games.

They did beat Express 2-0 last season in the corresponding fixture but their backline (which has conceded 21 goals so far) will be under scrutiny by Express’ quartet of Herman Wasswa, Noah Ssemakula, Allan Kyambadde and Ibrahim Saddam Juma who impressed away to Soana.
