In an attempt to resolve the goalkeeping problem, SC Villa have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Burundi first choice goalkeeper, Arthur Mac Arakaza.
Arakaza has been training with the Jogoos since they resumed preparations for the second round of the Uganda Premier League and Kawowo Sports understands the two parties have agreed and signed a deal although details remain scanty.
The highly rated Arakaza has been plying his trade with Burundi’s Flambeau de l’Est and it remains a clandestine on whether the club has given him a leeway to join the most successful club in the country.
The lanky custodian was Burundi’s first choice at the CHAN 2014 finals in South Africa and was amongst the best performers at the tournament.
Shafik Bisaso’s side, second on the league log with a point KCCA have already loaned Yasin Mugabi to Police leaving a vacuum in the department and so Arakaza’s arrival is no surprise if deal is complete.
Previously, the Blues have hired foreign goalkeepers in Kenyan Mathew Ottomax and Burundian, Ramadhan Elengesa.
SC Villa have been prolific at the front with the most league goals (28) but have conceded (17), with most howlers from goalkeepers.
