Uganda Cranes duo of Muhammad Shaban and Denis Onyango trained well on Friday to allay fears of unavailability for the crucial AFCON tie against Egypt.

Shaban, the Onduparaka youthful forward who came off the bench against Ghana sat out the Thursday training session while Onyango didn’t complete.

Before the team conducted their last training session before facing the Pharaohs, Coach Mulitin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic revealed the duo had to be assessed.

“Tonight’s training session will determine if Onyango and Shaban will be in our match day squad,” he told the press in a conference before revealing why Shaban missed out on the session on Thursday.

Shaban had an unfortunate incident. He burnt himself. It was a precaution not involving him in yesterday (Thursday) training.

Massa sits out

Meanwhile, skipper Geoffrey Massa didn’t train with the rest of the team on the eve of match dispelling fears he may not be fit for the game.

However, he was dressed in the full team kits but sat on the bench as the team trained.

Our efforts to find out why were futile but Micho didn’t mention him anywhere on the injury list and so he should be available.

Massa’s experience and the fact that he played in the Egypt league before are crucial in a match of this caliber.
