Musa Kabega and Rogers Sirwomu were all heads high after completing the Mbarara Rally over the weekend.

The KG rally team crew turned the day one sixteenth position to a sixth place finish overall in their Mitsubishi Evo 9.

It was their first rally finish since Kabale Rally last year.

“It was a great event for the whole crew having taken long with finishing. We are so happy that we finished even after suffering mechanical problems. But its not what we expected,” explains Sirwomu.

“Depending on all our preparations, we hoped so much for a podium finish but the weather conditions changed our strategy. We were reading notes for dry routes on wet routes.”

The crew heads to the second NRC round in March with 35points.

“Our car is now so fine, we expect to have better results in the next event. A podium finish remains our target,” added Sirwomu.

Meanwhile, Mbarara Rally was won by Omar Mayanja with Ronald Sebuguzi and Duncan Mubiru in second and third respectively.
