KCCA Football Club midfielder Tom Masiko is excited after making a timely recovery from a troublesome ankle strain.

The experienced midfielder marked his return with a goal in the 6-0 Uganda Cup victory against Kampala Regional side, Lungujja Galaxy on Wednesday evening at the Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
It gives me joy to play well and score but I am very happy for the overall performance of the team. Personally, having been disturbed by an ankle injury and to return with a goal, it is very promising.
Masiko’s appearances have been limited this season due to a painful ankle.
He sings special praise of the support from the medical department, teammates, coaches especially Badru Kaddu (K.B) and the fans.
As I recovered, I had the hope that I would return a better player.
I thank the medical team at the club, all my teammates, fans and coaches especially Coach K.B (Badru Kaddu) who has worked with me on the sidelines during the recovery process.
I feel a new person and ready to serve the club to the maximum in the league and the other matches as well
Masiko scored the second goal in KCCA’s Round of 32 victory against Lungujja Galaxy in a match Derrick Nsibambi notched a hat-trick and Geofrey Sserunkuma bagged a brace, including a wonder volley off Isaac Muleme’s perfect delivery from the left.
Ahead of the club’s CAF Champions League preliminary round return leg with Angola side CD Primiero De Agosto, Masiko’s experience will be key for KCCA.
Matisko terms away games on the continent as tricky as he quickly recalls the return leg for KCCA against Cameroon side Cosmos De Bafia in 2014 in the same championship.
In 2014, KCCA (then KCC F.C) overcame a 10-man Cosmos De Bafia (Patrick Nai was red carded in 55th minute) at Mandela National Stadium in Kampala.
Striker Herman Nteza Wasswa scored in the Kampala game before the Ugandan side lost 3-0 and bowed out after the return leg played at Stade Municipal De Bafia.
The Cameroon side scored through Tombi Alemi in the 70th and 90th minute and Cyrille Ekamba on the half hour mark.
Masiko vividly recounts the experience;
We carried a slim goal lead in Kampala against De Bafia but the game was a complete turn around during the return leg. We conceded in the first half and never recovered.
We are however determined to give the best come Sunday.
KCCA travels to Luanda, Angola in the wee hours of Friday morning.
