Winning start for Kirya as URA edge Sadolin

Second half substitute Bokota Labama Kamana scored late in the game as URA edged out Sadolin Paints 1-0 on Tuesday at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole to hand Ibrahim Kirya a winning start at the club.

In a nervy encounter between the two sides, Bokota struck the decisive blow in the 89^th minute as the tax collectors secured a second successive victory for only the second time this season.

Like two of their previous five clashes, the game seemed to head for a barren draw, but Bokota who replaced Peter Lwasa fifteen minutes after recess had different ideas.

The Rwandese international met Hamis ‘Diego’ Kiiza’s spectacular cross from the left to net home the opener and the lone goal of the game.

It was a deserved victory on the balance of play, though chances were there for both sides. That will not matter to URA, who have picked up maximum points since the change of management.

Sadolin should have had an early advantage with their best chance in the first half when Fred Kyambade, from the right, raced inside the box, but his effort was brilliantly blocked by URA’s captain Jimmy Kulaba.

Victory was URA’s first against Sadolin since that 4-0 triumph in 2015 in Sadolin’s maiden season in the premier league.

The result leaves URA fifth in the league standings with 30 points. Sadolin meanwhile drop a place down to 13th.
