International netball build up:
- Uganda 52-39 Malawi
The Uganda Netball national team, She Cranes overcame Malawi She Flames 52-39 in the first international friendly at Lugogo Indoor Arena in Kampala on Wednesday evening.
Uganda’s only professional and captain Peace Proscovia, who turns out for UK side Lightening Loughborough led the assault with a lion’s share of goals scored.
The home side led throughout all the quarters of play dominating center play in absence of the trusted gem, Ruth Meeme (maternity leave).
The friendly came just in time ahead of the 2017 Africa Netball Championship that kicks off this Saturday in Uganda.
Uganda and Botswana will officially throw-off the tournament with a duel on Saturday.
Malawi opens her campaign 24 hours later against Zimbabwe.
The tourney shall be played on a round robin basis.
In absence of the African heavy weights and reigning champions, South Africa, the host country is highly tipped to win the week long championship.
