Kenya international and Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder Victor Mugabi Wanyama is set to visit Uganda early next month, Kawowo Sports reliably reports.
The talented midfielder’s visit has been coordinated by Uganda’s music Icon, Eddy Kenzo Musuuza.
Musuuza confirmed Wanyama’s visit to Uganda.
We shall host our brother Victor Wanyama in Uganda at the start of July.
He will play in two charity matches in Masaka and Lugogo with proceeds aimed at helping out the ailing football legends and a charity organization.
In Masaka, the match will be held at Masaka Recreational stadium on the 7th July 2017 and in Kampala, the game will be at Phillip Omondi stadium.
We expect so many fans to come and see the legends of the game and as well, support the charity cause attached.
Musuuza, a former footballer now turned music icon has of late transformed his magnetic appeal from the music fame to help impoverished communities in Uganda.
When Wanyama visits, Uganda’s retired football legends as Sulaiman Mutyaba, Hassan Mubiru, David Obua, Steven Bengo, Hakim Magumba, Paul Mukatabala, Edward Kalungi will take to the field alongside some active players as Saddam Juma, Tonny Mawejje and others in the name of charity.
Wanyama was recently in Tanzania where a street was named after him.
The Ubungo Road, which leads to the Kinesi Stadium was renamed the Wanyama street but unfortunately, the sign post was brought down 24 hours later by local council authorities which insisted the official procedures required to rename a street had not been followed.
The visit of Wanyama to Uganda follows that of Japan’s playmaker Keisuke Honda and Ghana Black Stars’ Sulleyman Ali Muntari who were sponsored by the UN Foundation.
