Jinja SS captain Stephanie Nampiina used her second life well when she was dropped in the second last over with 13 runs still needed to help her team win by 4 wickets in the afternoon game.
She went on to score 12 runs in that over leaving little work for her mates after she was run out with only one run needed for a well played 30.
Jinja SS dented Pioneer’s chances of making the semis after winning both games and Pionneer will have to depend on other results to be certain of making the semis.
In the morning, Jinja SS won via D/L method by 1 run after rain stopped Pioneers chase at 53/3 in 10.5 overs while in pursuit of Jinja’s 80. Leon Babirye (23) was very resolute with bat for Pioneer she showed a lot maturity putting away loose balls and
The afternoon game was reduced to 19 Overs and Pioneer set 93 with Mary Nankinga and Leona Babirye making contributions. In reply the game went down to the wire with Jinja SS only winning in the last over with a ball to spare. Female Cricketer of the Year Stephanie Nampiina starred with bat in both games scoring 17 and 30 while her compatriot Rita Musamali did well with ball and bat.
The 2 wins put Jinja SS in second position behind table toppers Olila.
In Entebbe, KICC put Tornado B to the sword in both games winning by 49 runs in the morning and 10 runs in the afternoon.
Franklin Najjumba was on form with the bat scoring 47 and 23 for KICC.
Tornado B failed to pace their run chases and despite Saidat Kemigisha scoring 51 in the second game, they fell short in both games.
The losses mean Tornado B will have to win their last 2 games to avoid dropping out of the top 4.
In the only Division 2 game JACC humbled Premiers Ndejje SS by 47 runs in Jinja.
