Eastern Region side Mbale Heroes Football Club pipped SC Villa Jogoo 1-0 at the Mbale Municipal Stadium in a friendly match played on Saturday.
Vincent Egesa scored the lone strike of the day against the run of play in the opening stanza of the game.
The match followed a curtain raiser between Nakaloke and Wanale in the Mbale inter-divisions tournament, with Nakaloke winning 1-0 on the day.
SC Villa used the friendly to test out new players on board and as well strengthen the club brand in Eastern Uganda particularly in Mbale.
The Mbale fans’ branch remains one of the most vibrant among club’s huge fan base across the country.
Joogos will now play yet another friendly match this Wednesday at Villa Park, against Bright Stars.
Early next month, the club will have a training camp in Rwanda where they will play two international friendly matches with Rayon Sports and APR at the Amahoro stadium.
