Nyakasura the cricket power house of the Rwenzori Region just returned from a successful tour of Rwanda where they won 4 games out of the 5 they played against the select sides in Rwanda.
Since Ivan Thawitamwira made it a point to invest time in the school, they have gone from one high to another.
They played in Division 3 of the national league for the first time this year defeating seasonal campaigners in Buddo and Mwiri while also finishing among the top 4 schools in the national schools competition.
Thawitamwira a winner of the ICC Volunteer of the Year Award from the cricket governing body has invested a lot of his time in his former school and has been a constant figure on the touch line shouting instructions to his charges.

The reigning Western Region Champions gave their Rwandese counterparts a run for their money winning one of the two ODI games and all 3 of the T20 games including a famous win aganist the national team yesterday.
“The purpose of the trip was to expose the boys to different conditions as well as test our skills against unfamiliar opposition, something that can give us new challenges on things we need to work on.
“And I can say the trip has been a success as we have managed to achieve all the things we set out to achieve.
“The win against the national side yesterday will live with the kids for a long time, I will say the trip has been a success,” Thawitamwira told Kawowo Sports
The T20 games were played at the iconic Gahanga Stadium which will be officially opened later next month.
