T20 League defending champions Challengers had a shaky start but as the business end of the campaign approaches, their performance has improved.

Their 9 wicket win against a strong Tornado B team is testament to this fact. They have a lot of quality in their line up that a 3rd place finish in the league was a disappointment.

Tornado B was supposed to be a test but Challengers passed it with flying colors and Captain Ivan Thawitamwira lauded his bowlers for the strong win.

Aneef put up his hand. Kyobe and Hamu Kayondo gave us a good start but the bowling unit sung the perfect song, chocking the run flow, and picking wickets at the perfect moments.

Tornado B only managed 88 runs with Irfan Afridi picking up a fiver with Shahzad Kamal and Aneef Mohammed completing the formalities knocking off the deficit easily.

On Sunday afternoon Challengers won by 8 wickets against Avengers. Avengers was skittled out for 93 before a Arthur Kyobe (45 off 27) blitz helped Challengers win by 8 wickets.

Challengers are in the same group as League champions Damani and Strikers who will give them a better run for their money, Thawitamwira attributes their current success to general improvement in the team.

I feel we’re getting better as a team. The opposition are all usually competitive and they obviously have come to cause us some damage but when we play at our best, we tend to get good results.
