Uganda Cranes forward Emmanuel Arnold Okwi is a strong case study when the topic of goal scoring scoring arises in the Tanzanian Premier League.
Okwi netted the match winner in the 36th minute against giants Azam at the National Stadium in Dar es salaam.
The sharp forward thus took his personal tally to 13 goals in 17 matches, three ahead of team captain and striker John Bocco.
Meanwhile, another Ugandan, Shafiq Batambuze was also on target in Singida United’s 2-1 victory on the road at the CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza.
Batambuze, a left back converted from the penalty spot in the very first minute of the game.
Deus Kaseke got the second goal in the 59th minute.
Simba extended their leadership grip at the summit of the log with 41 points, 8 ahead of second placed Azam.
Singida United is 4th with 30 points off 17 matches.
