KCCA Coach Mike Mutebi praised his charges’ character against in the 1-0 win over CNaPS Sport and described the game as ‘very good.’

The visitors put up a good show against the Ugandan champions forcing Mutebi to hail them but says they have been together for over six years unlike his young project.

“We played a team that used the ball well before going on a defensive,” Mutebi told the media. “They have been together for six years but we are still a younger project and you could see that,” he added.

“You could see how they associated and knew each other well. But we are getting there since most of these boys have been together for three years, others two years apart from Habib (Kavuma).

KCCA’s win set them up with a date against Ethiopia’s St. George which Mutebi described as an experienced side.

“They are more experienced than us,” he said about the Ethiopian side. “They love to play and will make our players think,” he added.

We have to show them that we now belong to the big stage with the big boys. Everyone that now comes to play KCCA does his research and will know we are not walkovers.”

The winner over two legs will reach the lucrative group stages of the CAF Champions League yet the loser stands a chance of joining the Caf Confederations Cup.

Last year, KCCA played in the latter while St. George qualified the former.
