URA striker Herman Wasswa says it will be a special feeling to play against SC Villa at a ‘special home’ Masaka Recreation Ground.

The two giants face off on Wednesday in the league with either seeking maximum points especially the hosts who need to stay in contention for an elusive 13th league title.

“It’s a special game for me,” Wasswa told Kawowo Sports. “Playing against my former side at a place where it all started makes this game even more special for me,” he added.

Interestingly, even URA used the ground as their first home in their debut top tier campaign so that makes the game even more ‘Masaka made’

The former KCCA and Express centre forward also echoed his old promise of never celebrating a goal against the Jogoos.

Of course I will be eager to score and help my team (URA) win. But as usual, I don’t celebrate goals I score against SC Villa. They made what I am when I left Masaka LC and I respect that forever.

Since leaving the Jogoos in January 2013, Wasswa has netted three times against the 16-time league winners – all for KCCA.

His would be other goal against the side was when he played for Express FC but it was wrongly ruled out for offside last season prompting FUFA to punish assistant referee Musa Ngobi for the decision.

Wasswa began his career in Masaka where he featured for a number of junior sides before joining now defunct Masaka LC in the top division.
