Belief, diligence and sheer luck seldom crash on the same wavelength.

For Masavu football club captain Abraham Ndugwa, the aforementioned components collided as he marked a colourful debut with the national senior team, the Uganda Cranes.

Ndugwa was among the three scorers for Uganda Cranes during the 3-1 home victory against West African island nation, Sao Tome and Principe in the international friendly match at Mandela National stadium, Namboole.

In the aftermath of the match, Ndugwa, 22, acknowledged he has always been working so hard for the D-Moment.

Besides mere work outs, he also believed that he could deliver the goods home on the biggest stage.

I have been working hard for this moment.

I also believed i would deliver. Even when i was warming up to enter the field of play, i believed that the i would perform.

Coach also whispered to me that i would i score and i did it.

Blessed with an enviable sublime first touch on the ball, Ndugwa is also endowed with quick feet as well as a venomous shot off either feet.

Against Sao Tome and Principe, Ndugwa was introduced in the place of Romanian based midfielder William Luwagga Kizito before he combined with fellow substitute Yunus Sentamu to score past goalkeeper Vaz Nilson.

Nilson had replaced first choice goalkeeper Al Mgida Aldair on 68 minutes.

It only took him less than sixty seconds to make a mark, controlling a high ball with the right before an explict pass with the left leg.

Excited:

Ndugwa is excited having scored on his debut;

Like all people would feel on their debut, i felt abit nervous but grew in confidence.

I give the glory to God. He is merciful and his love endures forever. I feel good having scored on my my first outing with the national team.

Desabre congratulated Ndugwa for the splendid performance, epitomized by the third goal for the team;
