Ahead of the busy schedule in season, KCCA manager Mike Mutebi has admitted he isn’t so confident in his strikers.
The reigning champions have suffered in front of goal since the year started and have scored more than once only 3 times in 15 games in all competitions of which two are Uganda Cup games.
During that run, the Lugogo-based side have netted 15 times, failed to score 3 times.
Eight of the 15 goals have come from three forwards Muhammad Shaban (4), Derrick Nsibambi (3) and Patrick Kaddu (1) but Mutebi doesn’t have trust in his forwards.
“I can’t sit here and lie to you that am very confident about my strikers that they are going to score,” said Mutebi ahead of the game against URA. “I am only speculating that my team will create chances but am expecting goals from anywhere; from a midfielder or defender or strikers,” he added.

Derrick, Shaban, Kaddu have been firing blanks for the last three months so and thus we can’t be confident of them.
Nevertheless, Shaban has scored two in as many games something Mutebi says is welcome if he can be consistent at such a crucial time in the season.
“I hope it’s time for him to really be consistent,” the gaffer said of Shaban’s recent form. “Maybe it’s a good start for us in a crucial time when we need goals because in my opinion the league will go to the wire and it may also be decided on goal difference,” he added.
Fortunately, we started the season well and were the leading scorers but we need to rediscover our scoring attitude if we are to stay in the title race.
KCCA have scored the most league goals (35), six better than the second highest goal scorers, Vipers.
