King pin towering defender Ronald Mukiibi has penned an employment contract extension at Swedish top flight club, Ostersunds FK.

In the new deal, Mukiibi who was born in Sweden to Ugandan parents, will now stay at the Jamtkfrat Arena in Ostersunds, at least for another two years or more.

It has been a few days with much to think about. I will not lie, it was no easy decision but I feel that I have made the right decision. I went on the stomach feeling.

Ronald Mukiibi, as quoted by the club website

For starters, Mukiibi, 27, joined Ostersunds FK in 2015 from BK Hacken, first on a loan deal before it was formalised in 2016.

The Ugandan from Gothenburg has since played 104 matches for Ian Burchnall’s coached side, scoring seven goals.

Last season alone, Mukiibi started 18 matches of the 23 games he featured in.

For my part, Ronald Mukiibi is incredibly important player, perhaps the most important one we sign contracts with in this transfer window.
He is a good player with a story in ÖFK and a lovely personality. We are very happy that he stays in ÖF. I have been in ÖFK for a very long time and get a new role. This will be interesting and really fun

Ian Burchnall, head coach

Mukiibi penned a new deal that will keep him for another two and a half seasons at the club.

He is expected to join the teammates for preseason this Tuesday.

The club’s official training commences on Thursday, 10th January 2019 in the team’s OP-Hall.

Ostersunds FK is located in the northern part of Sweden.

It was founded in 1996 and only got promoted to the top flight league (Allsvenskan) in 2015 after being second in the Superettan league.

Last season, they bowed out of the UEFA Europa league at the round of 32 to English Premier League side Arsenal.
