On Sunday, April 7, the Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (FUBA) hosted an awards dinner at Kabira Country Club.

The awards dinner was the first since 2016 during which excelling players, coaches and team managers were awarded for their performance during the 2015 season.

For Nasser Sserunjogi and his new executive, there’s no better way to start the reign with the new season set to tip-off this Friday.

The first award of the evening, Ambassador of the Year, went to the 3×3 Franchise whose success last year was across the board with the women playing at the World Cup and the U23 World Cup.

All the others that followed were deserving with Jamila Nansikombi (JKL) and James Okello (City Oilers) taking home the top flight league Playoffs MVP Awards.

Brenda Ekon (Nkumba Lady Marines) went to the podium on three occasions for Top scorer, Regualr Season MVP and Outstanding Performance of the Year.

Fayed Bbale, now at UCU Canons, took home the Division I Regular Season MVP award and top scorer’s gong.

City Oilers and JKL Lady Dolphins head coach Mandy Juruni was named the Coach of the Year, having guided both teams to championships.
