  • Police FC 2-0 Karo Karungi

Police FC are on top of the FUFA Big League standings with 13 points from five games in an exciting start to the season.

Simon Peter Mugerwa’s reign as Police manager, after joining from Proline FC in the off-season, has been nothing short of spectacular with the Cops winning four games and drawing one.

Goals from Isaac Ogwang and Herman Wasswa ensured they remained unbeaten in the league and, now three points clear at the summit.

In a post-match press conference, Mugerwa revealed they are taking each game at a time amidst the early success in the league.

“We shall plan for one game at a go and now our focus shifts to our away game to Booma FC,” the soft-spoken gaffer revealed.

“However, I am very happy with the result. It was so important to win because we wanted to go back to the top position,” he added.

“I want to thank the boys, the game was not easy but we managed to claim maximum points. Karo Karungi was so competitive and physical but we stayed in the game.

“We defended as a unit but also took away our chances to score the two important goals. So today, what was important was to keep the momentum and the boys fully executed.

“In the second half, our opponent was in charge of the midfield so we needed to make two changes and that totally changed our game.

“We had to cut down their mobility and speed which we did and later got a late goal to take away all points,” he concluded.

Police continue to pursue their goal of promotion to the top-tier league and they appear to be on the right track.

To realize their objective, they will have to overcome fierce competition from Blacks Power and Calvary, who have previously stayed solid in the green zone.
