The first and only two-day round of the 2024 Nile Special Rugby (Men) Championship was held this past weekend due to a national public holiday on Friday.
By Saturday evening when it ended, KOBs and Walukuba had each won their first matches, Heathens & Hippos had dropped points for the first time, and Rhinos were on top of the table.
These are the full results from all the teams in the competition.
Nile Special Rugby (Men) Championship 2024 – Round 3 Results:
- Eagles 16-44 Kobs
- Hippos 20-20 Heathens
- Mongers 16-17 Walukuba
- Impis 11-17 Buffaloes
- Rhinos 30-15 Rams
- Black Pirates 42-13 Warriors
KOBs’ bonus point victory lifted them out of the relegation playoffs after they beat a stubborn Eagles side at Legends Rugby Grounds on Friday.
The following day, Heathens saw their 10-point lead against Hippos disappear into thin air within twenty minutes. The two settled for a remarkable draw which ended Heathens’ winning streak against Hippos in its ten-year history.
As it stands after three rounds, Rhinos, Heathens, Pirates, and Hippos have a home first leg match in the playoffs. Impis, Eagles, Rams, and Warriors are in the dreaded relegation zone.
