The pool phase in the 2024 Rugby 7s Repechage has concluded after two days of action at the Stade Louis II in Monaco.

In the women’s competition, Uganda were flawless in Pool B; winning their three matches to top the standings.

Uganda Women’s Pool B Results:

  • Game 1: Uganda 29-00 Jamaica
  • Game 2: Uganda 24-00 Paraguay
  • Game 3: Uganda 17-14 Hong Kong

Uganda earned the second seed in the rankings for the knockout phase on the final day. They will face Czechia in the Cup Quarterfinal at 10.54 a.m. EAT.

On the other hand, the men’s competition was too stiff for Uganda to handle in Pool B. They lost their first two matches but a win in the third saw them progress to the knockout round.

Uganda Men’s Pool B Results:

  • Game 1: Canada 31-12 Uganda
  • Game 2: Great Britain 29-05 Uganda
  • Game 3: Uganda 33-15 China

Uganda were the bottom seed and will face South Africa in the Cup Quarterfinal at 12.31 p.m. EAT.

Only one team, the winner of the Cup Final in the men’s and women’s competitions respectively, will qualify for the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

Cup Quarterfinals Fixtures (all times EAT):

  • Women – 10.54 a.m.: Uganda vs Czechia
  • Men – 12.31 p.m.: South Africa vs Uganda
