Overview:
Besides athletics, Uganda will also be represented in cycling (Charles Kagimu), rowing (Grace Kathleen Noble) and two swimmers (Gloria Muzito as well as Jesse Ssengonzi).
Uganda will present a strong athletics team at the forthcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.
This team has ten (10) men and eleven (11) women runners over varying distances.

Sprinters:
US-based sprinter Tarsis Orogot will compete in the 200m distance.
He will be joined by Tom Dradiga and Halima Nakaayi in the 800m.



1500m:
Only one athlete, Winnie Nanyondo will represent in the 1500m race.
3000m steeplechase:
Leonard Chemutai and Peruth Chemutai will compete in the 3000m steeplechase race.



5000m:
Six athletes will compete in the 5000m women’s and men’s races.
Joshua Kiprui Cheptegei, Oscar Chelimo and Jacob Kiplimo are the men in the 5000m category.
Belinda Chemutai, Esther Chebet and Joy Cheptoyek will race in the women’s 5000m race.
10,000m:
Joshua Cheptegei, Jacob Kiplimo, Joy Cheptoyek, Sarah Chelangat, Annet Chemengich Chalengat and Martin Magengo Kiprotich will compete in the 10,000m race.




For starters, Cheptegei is the current world record holder over 5000m and 10,000m races.
At the previous Olympics in Tokyo (Japan), Cheptegei won gold in 5000m and silver in 10,000m behind Kiplimo.
Marathon:
Stephen Kissa, Victor Kiplangat, Andrew Rotich Kwemboi, Stellah Chesang, Rebecca Cheptegei and Mercyline Chelangat are all recorded for the marathon.

Officials:
Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF) president Domenic Otucet leads the cast of officials.
The others include Faustino Kiwa, Adrianus Ruiter, Paul Okello, Peter Chelangat, Benjamin Njia and Grace Chesang.

Other disciplines:

The 2024 Summer Olympics will be the XXXIII Olympiad. This international multi-sport event is scheduled to take place from 26th July to 11th August 2024.
