Wanderers pose for a teamphot before the game against Patidar

Weekend Matches: 27/07/2024

  • Kutchi Tigers v Tornado Bee – Lugogo Oval
  • Wanderers v SKLPS – Entebbe Oval
  • Ceylon Lions v Rounders – Serenity Oval
  • Patidar v Tornado – Jinja Oval

Kutchi Tigers will face their first real test in the UGT20 League when they take on Tornado Bee on Matchday 5.

Kutch Tigers, the champions of the Division in 50 Over season, are pushing for a season double. They won their first game of the season on the road in Jinja against Jinja SS but will face a different kind of opponent in Tornado Bee.

Tornado Bee lead the way in Group A but has played a game more than second-placed Kutchi Tigers and victory for the latter will push them ahead of the former. The two sides are the clear favourites in Group A, and this result will most certainly decide who will finish as the group’s top seed.

Wanderers will start their T20 season at the Lakeside Oval in Entebbe. The Division 1 runners-up will face Division 2 side SKLPS as they look to get off to a good start.

Wanderers will be hoping for good fortune for themselves as they chase a trophy in a season that has been open for everyone.

SKLPS have played four games and are yet to register any points and defeat this weekend will most certainly knock them out of the UGT20 tournament.

In Kamengo, Ceylon Lions will play host to Rounders at the Serenity Oval. Ceylon Lions are playing for the first time this season and face off against second-place Rounders.

Ceylon Lions should be one of the favourites to move on from Group C and will be hoping for good weather in Kamengo to get maximum points.

Tornado and Patidar will both travel to Jinja as they face off in Group B. Both sides have a 100% record so far in the tournament, and in a contest of evenly matched sides, it’s hard to call the final result.
