Six matches played. Six wins. Zero losses. That was Rhinos Rugby Club’s scorecard during the first circuit of the 2024 Nile Special 7s Series in Entebbe.

The “Shirtless Gang”, as they prefer to call themselves, won the men’s Cup Final after beating Buffaloes by 17-05 points.

Three unanswered tries by captain Allan Olango (2) and Arnold Ocen enabled Rhinos to keep Buffaloes at an arm’s distance despite the latter’s efforts to come back.

Olango was named as the men’s MVP for his brilliant performance throughout the entire weekend.

This was Rhinos’ first Cup Final appearance and victory since regaining core status two years ago. They lead the overall standings with twenty-two points.

Walukuba beat Mongers in the bronze medal match to complete the podium places.

The Nile Special 7s Series will hit the road to Mbale for the second circuit on August 17-18.
