The TotalEnergies Caf Champions League penultimate round of the group stages came to conclusion over the weekend a few teams confirming their place in the quarter finals.

Record winners and current holders Al Ahly, South Africa’s 1995 winners Orlando Pirates, Sudan’s Al Hilal, Morocco’s FAR Rabat and the duo of Esperance and Pyramids all secured their place in the knock out phase with a game to spare.

Meanwhile, Burkina Faso international Aziz Ki scored the winner as Young Africans edged Al Hilal away to keep hopes of reaching the last eight alive.

The win left Young Africans 3rd on the group A standings, one point behind second placed MC Alger.

The two face off in the final game with the game in Dar and victory for Yanga will secure them a quarter final spot.

For Mamelodi Sundowns who picked a vital away win against DR Congo’s Maniema, that left them second on the group and will need a draw against table leaders FAR Rabat in the final game to reach the next stage.

The final round of the group stages fixtures will be played on Saturday January 18.
