Rookies Penelope Amiya and Joan Ryekoboth are on the Uganda She Cranes team that will compete in this prestigious four-nation tournament scheduled from 1st to 9th February 2025 in UK.

Uganda National Netball Team, She Cranes, will travel for the 2025 Netball Nations Cup on Wednesday, 28th January 2025.

On Saturday, head coach Rashid Mubiru revealed the final squad of players who will compete in this prestigious four-nation tournament scheduled for 1st to 9th February.

Rookies Penelope Amiya and Joan Ryekoboth are on the team.

Skipper Irene Eyaru, Racheal Nanyonga, Sandra Nambirige, Mary Nuba, Margret Bagaala and Haniisha Muhameed are some of the tried and tested players travelling.

“As we selected the final team, we considered skills, discipline, and overall readiness. We are prepared to give our best and make Uganda proud,” Mubiru remarked.

The She Cranes will face South Africa on 1st February 2025 at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham

They also await stiff opposition against hosts England and another African giant Malawi.

Missed out

Six players failed to make the final travelling team. These are; Filedaus Namulema, Sylvia Nanyonga, Lilian Achola, Betty Namukaaya, Akello Malisera, and Deborah Nakijoba.

The series will be played over two successive weekends. The first weekend will be played at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham.

The second weekend will be played at the Copper Box Arena in London.

Umpire Appointments panel:

The trio of South Africans; Jakie Mizon, Marielouw Van der Merwe and Heather Gleadal are on the umpire appointments panel.

Umpires:

Six umpires will officiate at this championship.

Tamara Buriani Gennai, Alison Harrison, Tracy Ann Griffiths and Gary Burgess are from England.

South Africa has Ken Matekingi and Anso Kemp.
