NIC Netball Club secured a well-deserved 53-38 victory against KCCA in the 2025 East Africa Netball Club Championship in Zanzibar on Tuesday.
The thrilling victory meant that NIC had successfully defended its title extending their count to 28 regional championship title.
NIC opened up a three-goal (14-11) lead at the end of a highly competitive opening period.
In the second quarter, NIC extended the lead to eight goals (29-21) before the half-time break.
Coming from the break, KCCA improved in the third period as they narrowed KCCA’s lead to three goals (41-38).
It was a one-sided affair as NIC hit the second gear to go all the way and seal a 15-goal victory.
Road to the final
NIC kicked off the emphatic campaign with an easily earned 78-20 victory against Zimamoto before seeing off groupmates Uhamiaji, Arusha Jiji, JKU, and KCCA.
NIC registered a well-deserved 71-40 victory against KVZ in the semifinal clash before seeing off countrymates KCCA in the final.
