KCCA FC will have to fight tooth and nail to keep some of its players whose contracts are running out.

Seven players namely; Arafat Usama Kizza, Etienne Openga Katenga, Joao Esteves Cardoso Gabriel, Musitafa Mujjuzi, Sadat Anaku, Filbert Obenchan and Umar Lutalo will soon become free agents.

The club has in the past few months attempted to convince some of the aforementioned players to renew their contracts but to no avail.

A case in point is Usama who has arguably been the best player at the club this season. The club and player’s representatives have held several meetings but failed to reach an agreement.

Reliable reports reveal that despite the player willing to renew his contract, the club management was reluctant to meet his terms.

In that mix, several suitors have already approached the player, some offering better to what KCCA FC is presenting for the player to renew his contract.

Key among the suitors is Vipers SC and there is belief that the left-footed winger could be heading to Kitende soon.

Katenga too has attracted attention elsewhere and the Angolan could be on his way out of Lugogo. Some reports have also linked him to Vipers SC.

Despite playing well towards the end of the season, Gabriel is the other player who is likey to leave the club.

According to a source that preferred anonymity, the Brazilian is on high wages and the club is not willing to extend his stay.

Defenders Mujuzi and Obenchan have not had a good season and the pair could be deemed surplus to requirement.

On the other hand, Anaku and Lutalo who signed short stints until the end of this season have been far from impressing and there are minimal chances of them extending their stay.
