Robert Jjagwe hands over the instruments of power to Cyrus Muwanga

The Uganda Table Tennis Association (UTTA) president Cyrus Mark Muwanga officially received the instruments of power from his predecessor, Robert Jjagwe on Saturday, 12th July 2025.

This hand-over took place at the Copper Chimney Restaurant, housed on the headquarters of the National Council of Sports (NCS) in Lugogo, Kampala.

Muwanga promised dedication, diligence and an eye for success while focusing on local growth and development of the sport.

I am humbled to receive the instruments of power from the former president. At the same time, I am revealing the other members of the executive committee and the board. It is work in progress and together we shall succeed for the sport.

A fortnight ago, Muwanga was voted unopposed as the Uganda table tennis association President at the Baguma’s Restaurant along Lumumba Avenue in Kampala.

Brian Senyondo as treasurer and Joseph Rukundo as General Secretary.

As a constitutional mandate, Muwanga filled the other vacant executive committee positions.

Caroline Aziku is the vice president whilst Ronnie Serulyo will serve as the technical director.

Others members:

Ameria Biira, Peterston Walujjo, Paul Mutambuze and Davis Wasajja are all board members.

These replace the Robert Jagwe administration during whose 12-year reign amidst resistance that threatened the sport, elevated Uganda to global recognition.

I now take on the role of Honorary President of the UTTF to guide and mentor the new president and his board into a successful assumption of office, a smooth transition and also guidance plus advice in their new term to ensure that the New President can fully achieve his Objectives and Targets. I thank all who prayed and supported me during my Tenure as President of Uganda Table Tennis. I am 100% Confident that Cyrus will take Uganda Table Tennis to much higher Development Levels than where I have left it. He has an excellent work ethic and a very passionate desire to excel in all he does.  As a former top player of the sport, he knows it inside out. I request you all to support him on his quest to take Ugandan Table Tennis to much – much greater levels of Success.
