2025 USSSA Ball Games 2 (Netball):

  • Final: Buddo Secondary School 29-27 St Mary’s Kitende

History was written at the Tororo Girls school main playground as Buddo Secondary School won their first ever national netball trophy.

Overlooking the famous volcanic plug, the Tororo Rock, hundreds of spectators were gathered to witness this feat on Thursday, 17th July 2025.

This was during the epic, explosive, tense and breathe-taking netball finale between two Wakiso arch rival schools, Buddo SS and record winners, St Mary’s Kitende.

In clinical fashion, Buddo SS won their first ever national trophy in as many years with a 29-27 victory.

Every throw was well calculated. Every move monitored; players were fully charged and each attempt at the ring to score mattered most.

The crowd was electrified and cheered every move of the game.

“This victory is a historic milestone for Buddo SS, marking our first-ever national school trophy. This achievement is a testament to the team’s hard work, dedication, and perseverance” a visibly excited Assimwe remarked.

Our players showed exceptional skill, teamwork, and determination, which has paid off in the most satisfying way. Several factors contributed to our success. Firstly, our rigorous training sessions and strategic planning helped us develop a strong team dynamic and effective gameplay. Additionally, our players’ ability to adapt to different situations and opponents was crucial in securing wins. This victory not only brings pride to Buddo SS but also sets a new standard for future teams. It’s a reminder that with persistence, teamwork, and a winning mindset, we can achieve greatness. I’d like to commend each player, staff member, and supporter for their invaluable contribution to this triumph. Let’s celebrate this momentous occasion and look forward to continued success.
