Dolphins Swim Club Kampala (DSC) has today launched the 7th edition of the Fast & Furious Invitational Gala, which will take place at Kampala Parents School this weekend, 27th-28th September 2025.

The highly anticipated age group Swimming Gala promises to be a spectacular display of talent, with over 600 participants from about 30 clubs confirmed.

This year’s event is poised to be the largest in its history, cementing its reputation as a premier fixture on the national swimming calendar.

In a thrilling new development, Dolphins Swim Club Kampala (DSC) is raising the stakes by introducing a financial reward for excellence. For the first time ever, swimmers who break records will be awarded a cash prize, recognising their extraordinary achievements and providing a powerful incentive for athletes to push their limits. Other prizes to be won at the event include mascots as it is during the international swimming events, trophies, and many more items from the event sponsors.

“Actually, one of the reasons why you put up cash prices for every record that will be broken is so that we can attract, to put attraction on those records, and then the swimmers work towards getting them,” said Dolphins Head Coach Tonny Kasujja

The event is called Fast and Furious because all events are done over 50 meters, apart from Individual Medleys.

The Gala will have swimmers compete in 50 Meter events across the four strokes: Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle and Butterfly. The swimmers will also take part in 100-meter individual medleys and cannon relay. The Cannon relay is a freestyle relay consisting of two swimmers from each age group (one boy and one girl).

“We are interested in the athletes showcasing maximum speed when it comes to swimming, the other objective is that the gala gives opportunities, to the swimmers to compete with others better swimmers; Not all swimmers have got opportunities to go and compete in world championship, but we try as much as possible to ensure that we give them that opportunity and also showcase, a competitive environment when it comes to the sport of swimming,” Kasujja added.
