Bright Anukani

Once prefigured as Uganda’s best creative midfielder, Bright Anukani’s career is at cross roads.

The Proline academy graduate has been left out of the KCCA squad for the 2025/26 season and his shirt number 14 given to new signing Rogers Mugisha.

Re-signed from Vipers at the end of the 2024/25 season and handed a three-year contract, Anukani started brightly under Abdallah Mubiru in a midfield trio alongside Said Mayanja and Joel Sserunjogi but faded as the season waned.

By end of the season, he had lost his starting place and deemed surplus to requirements under the new coaching set up of Brian Ssenyondo and Jackson Magera.

With his name missing on the 30-man squad and not on the list that has departed players, the question is; where is Bright Anukani?

Kawowo Sports understands that the player and his camp are not happy with the intended contract termination without pay for outstanding obligations or compensation for services rendered.

For now, it is reported that the two camps are in talks over amicable settlement and the longer it takes, it may deny Anukani opportunity to showcase his talent at another club.

SC Villa and UPPC Entebbe are the main suitors of the youngsters whose potential and talented is undoubted but he is yet to exploit fully.
