Despite tensions off pitch with fans continuing to show discontent by shunning stadia, the premier league show goes on with KCCA at home to Lugazi.
This will be preceded by the ‘Bunyoro derby’ in which early pace setters Buhimba Saints United take on Kitara at the Royal Park Butema.
The hosts have a big chunk of its playing squad signed from Kitara including skipper Maxwell Owachigiu, goalkeeper Jamil Kiyimba, centre back Ramadan Dudu, Eric Muber, Edson Agondze and Derrick Byabachwezi among others.
Coming into the game, Angelo Lonyensi’s men are perfect with six points from as many after wins over Entebbe UPPC and Calvary.
However, this will be their first test against season league campaigners as both their first two games were against fellow newly promoted sides.
For Kitara who have one point from their draw against KCCA on match day one, a win will not only calm fans’ fears who are against the new league format but also take bragging rights.
With Fufa and UPL yet to pronounce themselves on the aborted Vipers clash in which the Venoms didn’t show up, they stay in the bottom eight with only a point.
At Lugogo, KCCA will aim at building on the 2-1 victory over rivals SC Villa against a Lugazi side who lost their last outing by the same score line vs Entebbe UPPC.
In the corresponding fixture last season, KCCA beat the visiting Lugazi 5-0 despite behind held by a 1-1 draw in the game at Lugazi.
Joao Gabriel, Ettiene Katenga, Derrick Nsibambi, Yian Gatbel and Emmanuel Anyama are ruled out due to injury.
